kind offer to communicate by cable with the Governor of Hong Kong.
Happily this step is not now necessary, as the Admiralty have with-
drawn their objection to publication of the plan in view of evidence
which I have been able to submit to them of plans of the port which
had appeared in recent years in this Journal.
